The business cycle expansion is strengthening, but weak profit growth persists

Second-quarter GDP growth figures confirm a strengthening economic cycle for the Euro Area. Spain surprised on the upside, while the UK saw another quarter of weak growth. Profit growth has been muted so far, and pricing power has been weak. However, both businesses and consumers expect inflation to increase.
