The Euro Area economy has stormed into 2018 at full speed

January 10, 2018 | Report

The Euro Area economy has stormed into 2018 at full speed. Three factors support this strengthening: (1) Germany, Europe’s largest economy, is growing well above its potential; (2) investment picked up in 2017, following an increase in business confidence; and (3) the labor market has improved: 2.6 million jobs were added in 2017, sustaining households’ income and spending.
