January 07, 2022 | Newsletters & Alerts

2021 was an especially difficult year for corporate political activity, with most corporate PACs suspending contributions for at least part of the year in the wake of the events of January 6th.

Looking ahead at 2022, 87% of government relations executives and PAC managers anticipate corporate political activity to be at least as challenging in 2022. And 42% are bracing for it to be more difficult than in 2021, according to a new survey from The Conference Board ESG Center and the National Association of Business Political Action Committees (NABPAC).

The following are some of the key findings and insights from the survey, as well as a roundtable held in December under the Chatham House Rule that was sponsored by Altria, Prudential, Sempra Energy, and Steptoe & Johnson. Look for a full report from the ESG Center next month tha
