Disclosure of Board Diversity Rises, but Progress is Uneven in Increasing Gender and Racial Diversity

As featured on the front page of Wednesday’s Wall Street Journal, the latest report from the ESG Center highlights that 59% of the S&P 500 companies are now disclosing their boards' racial and ethnic composition, more than double the rate from 2020 to 2021. The rate of disclosure more than tripled in the Russell 3000, from 7.7% in 2020 to 26.9% in 2021.
