Sustaining Capitalism: Leadership in Challenging Times
CED’s Leadership in Challenging Times series interviews our country’s top business leaders about the unprecedented challenges, as well as transformative opportunities, facing our nation and how they are helping to navigate a path forward for their companies, communities, and the nation at-large.
The CEO discussion series features the six outstanding business leaders who are the recipients of CED's annual Distinguished Leadership Awards, along with other outstanding business leaders. In this series, they share their experiences and insights as part of CED’s efforts to help our nation navigate crises and develop reasoned solutions.
The discussion series pays tribute to the legacy of CED’s founders, America’s leading CEOs who, during WWII, heeded the call to public service to guide the transition from a wartime to a prosperous peacetime economy. The Committee for Economic Development helped shape the Marshall Plan that rebuilt Europe after WWII as well as the Jobs Act of 1946 which set forth workplace reforms. That tradition continues today with our efforts to shape public policy that impacts our workplaces, communities and government and will help to make capitalism sustainable for generations by providing prosperity and equal opportunity for all Americans.
