Global Consumer Confidence Report: Q1 2020

In this report, we provide an overview of 2020 Q1 results of The Conference Board® Global Consumer Confidence Survey and the state of the consumer since the escalation of COVID-19 for 15 major economies around the world. The report also provides a brief overview of how governments are responding to the crisis and how their policies may affect the consumer in the near term. As businesses and consumer spending grind to a halt in the wake of lockdowns to contain the virus, and household finances deteriorate, consumer demand will continue to weaken. How quickly these dominos fall, especially in countries implementing shutdowns, will drive differences in consumer confidence across global markets.
