CEO Challenge 2011: Fueling Business Growth with Innovation and Talent Development

Since 1999, The Conference Board CEO Challenge Survey has asked CEOs, presidents, and chairmen across the globe to identify their most critical challenges. According to the 704 top executives who responded to the 2011 edition of the survey, after years of combating the effects of the global recession and, in some cases, fighting for survival, companies are revving their engines for growth. However, while CEOs may agree that Business Growth is the most critical challenge they face in the year ahead, the strategies they cite as essential to meeting this goal differ considerably by geography, by industry, and by company size.

This year’s report is entirely new and features a fully revised and condensed set of 10 overall challenges (down from 84 in previous surveys) and a more in-depth strategy section that highlights the need for clear organizational alignment, teamwork, and strong, thoughtful, and visionary leadership.
