A “shocking” result of the UK “Brexit” referendum brought renewed volatility to global financial markets, but the direct impact on emerging markets’ macroeconomic growth is likely to be limited. The longer-term impacts on emerging markets from Brexit, however, will come from trade and investment as well as a further reversal of globalization.
