The Conference Board Economics Watch® Emerging Markets View

Emerging markets will see slowing growth in 2019, as several concerning factors, including tightening monetary policy in the US, rising trade protectionism and volatility in oil prices still prevail. Leading Economic Index suggests no positive outlook for China and Mexico, and the industrial outlook for China signals a slowdown and possible job losses. Even though the industrial outlook remains positive for India, the national elections this year will be a major constraining factor for the country’s overall outlook.
