The Conference Board Economics Watch® Emerging Markets View

The growth slowdowns in China, India, Mexico, Indonesia, and Malaysia, were offset by gains in the Philippines, Vietnam, Chile, Russia, and notably in Turkey, resulting in a stabilization of Q3 growth.  Looking ahead, the pace of industrial slowdown is easing in some countries, and the short-term industrial outlook is positive for China, India, and Brazil. Overall, despite several challenges, with a recovery in China, India, Brazil, and a few other smaller markets, growth is likely to improve, albeit modestly, in 2020.
