Why organizations should retain their recruiters during a downturn

November 15, 2022 | Brief

During severe economic downturns, organizations will often look to talent acquisition (TA) as the first place to cut expenses. In order to respond to a subsequent upturn faster than competitors, organizations should retain their recruiters during a downturn. There are four reasons for doing so:

  1. Recruiter positions are hard to fill.
  2. Recruiters can create talent pools of top performers.
  3. Recruiters can shift their focus to transforming TA.
  4. Recruiters can be redeployed or may volunteer to be furloughed.
