Growth in economic activity is holding up well in 2023 but is showing signs of slowing in Latin America and South Africa. Central banks face a dilemma between heightened financial instability and stubborn inflation. Continued moderation in rate hikes, or in some cases pauses, are expected for the remainder of 2023.
