Monthly updates on the state of the economy in emerging markets

Economy Watch: Emerging Markets View (March 2023)

March 17, 2023 | Report

While the global economy slows, particularly in 2023, emerging markets and developing economies are expected to continue to grow at a stable pace of about 3.7 percent in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Activity broadly improved at the start of 2023, particularly in China and India. However, inflation remains elevated and (well) above central bank targets in many economies. China is the one exception with low inflation.
