Emerging markets’ economic momentum improved in October

Purchasing managers across emerging market economies (EMs) signaled increased optimism in October. Recent flare-ups in infection rates notwithstanding, the overall outlook for EMs remains one of continued recovery. Global trade expansion stalled in recent months amid supply-chain bottlenecks, but global trade volume remains high.
