Securing Critical Infrastructure: Building Resilience

May 21, 2023

This Solutions Brief focuses on the challenges of securing US critical infrastructure amid an evolving threat landscape, focusing on three critical areas to our economic and daily lives: water systems, energy, and communications. Each of these faces key challenges, including highly fragmented sectors and increased reliance on network-connected devices. The overriding solution is collaboration between public and private sector leaders, which is fundamental to meeting the cyber and resiliency challenge. Furthermore, the responsibility for cybersecurity extends beyond the largest industry actors to the smaller and medium-sized businesses and requires the coordinated efforts of all business leaders and government leaders on the federal, state, and local levels.
