Data Privacy & Cybersecurity: Even More Risk and Regulation in 2023

Cybersecurity has consistently been a top 10 issue for CEOs since 2014 in The Conference Board annual C-Suite Outlook surveys. In our most recent survey of global CEOs, 81% say cyberattacks will increase from the war in Ukraine while only 41% responded their organization is prepared to deal with a major cyber crisis. In another survey of resilience professionals, more than 80% of respondents see cybersecurity/breaches as the top future risk area for organizations in the next three years. While data privacy has been under the spotlight by consumers, a Conference Board survey found 1 in 5 consumers has avoided buying a brand over its data practices.

With heightened risk and stakeholder concerns, policymakers are looking closely into the areas of cybersecurity and data privacy, with new SEC disclosure requirements and additional regulations across multiple States and governments.

Join us for a discussion on the continued increase of risk, regulation, and corporate responses relating to data privacy and cybersecurity including:

  • Upcoming regulation.
  • The evolving threat landscape and risks.
  • Stakeholders’ expectations.
  • Organizations’ current strengths and weaknesses.
  • What companies should do to provide sustained (and not just episodic) attention to data security and privacy.

Who should attend:
Current and prospective board members of public and private companies; CEOs and other C-suite executives; general counsel; corporate secretaries; corporate attorneys; investors; corporate governance professionals; communications and investor relations professionals, Chief Information Security Officers, Chief Privacy Officers, and other cybersecurity and data professionals
