Taking An Inclusive Approach To Mental Health And Well-Being

Events of the last two years have made it ever clearer to managers and leaders that the need to consider worker well-being as a central part of their responsibility is a vital dimension of a healthy and productive organization. But the pandemic has also shed new light (and solid data) on how physical and emotional well-being is deeply personal and individual – shaped by differences in age, gender, ethnicity, culture, life-experience etc. Well-being can also be adversely affected by workplace problems such as stigma -especially around mental ill-health – and the experience of any kind of prejudice and discrimination.

In this webcast Nilufer Demirkol, Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Nestlé, and Bilyana Georgieva, Global Employee Relations and Health Manager at Nestlé will share how their organisation is creating a new coalition between well-being and DE&I interventions to tackle some of the barriers to well-being. Together they are working to create more tailored interventions to support physical and mental health and nurture an inclusive culture where all workers can thrive.

After attending this webcast, you will be able to:

  • Understand how physical and mental health is individual and may be influenced by diverse variables such as age, gender, ethnicity, belief, culture etc
  • Recognize how the experience of stigma, discrimination and prejudice can adversely impact mental and physical health
  • Construct a business case for well-being and DE&I leaders to work more closely together to devise tailored solutions for diverse workers
  • Consider a range of practical steps to support the well-being of diverse workers, diminish cultural barriers, and build an inclusive culture where all workers can thrive regardless of their mental or physical health challenges
