10 February 2025 | Press Release
The Conference Board is committed to expanding opportunity and access for employees everywhere. Our dedication to the foundational principles of diversity, equity & inclusion began at our founding in 1916, prompted by the devastation after the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire and remains unwavering. We firmly believe that these principles, supported by tangible actions, are key drivers of business success and help organizations attract, engage, and retain top talent. The Conference Board is a nonpartisan organization; as such, our focus continues to lie in the work, not the terminology, as we help our Members and society build a fair and inclusive environment for all employees while improving business outcomes. In line with The Conference Board Mission, we will continue to provide insights and tools to support our Members so they can make the right decisions for their organizations.
Tangible Actions
In keeping with these beliefs, The Conference Board has transitioned to the term “Opportunity and Access,” specifically for the previous DEI Councils, the website, and the DEI Community. In addition, our 29-year-old diversity-related event, People First: Opportunity & Access, will be held in New York on June 12-13, 2025. We are continuing our related Human Capital Center research and programming, with publications, webcasts, podcasts, and Member roundtables.
