CCPA: Categories of Personal Information

The California Consumer Privacy Act requires companies to inform consumers about their data handling practices, based on the “categories of personal information” they collect. This template suggests a set of categories that companies can consider. Data elements collected by companies subject to CCPA can be mapped to these categories when drafting notices and other compliance documents. NOTE: This tool was created prior to publication of the Attorney General regulations. Please check the regulations before relying on the guideline. Published June 2019
