Global Consumer Confidence for the Gulf Region Q4 2020

The Gulf region appears to be avoiding a second wave of COVID-19 cases. The governments’ vigilance in restricting mobility and closing international borders at the onset of the pandemic have shielded the region from the worst impacts of COVID-19 so far, though a resurgence of the virus regionally following the lifting of all travel bans could affect the region in Q1 2021. The UAE does appear to be going through a second wave, logging record daily cases as of January 2021. This might prompt
renewed lockdowns and eventually a deterioration in job and personal finances outlook for the UAE in Q1 2021.
