The ROI of Sustainability: Session Four

September 12, 2024 10:00 AM ET - 12:00 PM ET | Hybrid Meeting

Determining and conveying the return on investment (ROI) of sustainability initiatives is a major challenge for companies today. Beyond investor pressure, sustainability has become a business imperative. To address this critical issue, The Conference Board Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Center is hosting a series of Roundtable discussions on The ROI of Sustainability.

To date, we have held three sessions:

Session one (March 29):

  • Laid the groundwork by exploring the current state of measuring sustainability ROI.
  • Identified key calculation elements.
  • Examined prevalent challenges.

Session two (May 9):

  • Emphasized the importance of agility and having multiple contingency plans to adapt to setbacks.
  • Highlighted the need to tailor communication to different stakeholders to ensure engagement and support for sustainability projects.

Session three (June 13):

  • Discussed the challenge of aligning budgets with sustainability goals due to shifting regulatory requirements.
  • Emphasized the importance of quantifying intangible benefits and raising leadership awareness about their significant impact on the overall financial value of sustainability initiatives.

Join us for Session Four: Communicating the ROI of Sustainability

Building upon insights from our previous sessions, this upcoming session will delve deeper into communicating the ROI of Sustainability and will address:

  • What are the best practices in communicating and reporting results?
  • Who are the key audiences?
  • Why does ROI matter to them?
  • What are the key communication vehicles for conveying the ROI of sustainability?
  • What are the risks and opportunities in communicating ROI?
  • What should you include, exclude, or caveat in your communications?

To Attend:

The session will occur both virtually and in-person at The Conference Board (845 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022).

To register for in-person attendance, and to learn more about speaking opportunities, please e-mail Lindsay Beltzer, Senior Program Producer, at lbeltzer@tcb.org. To register for virtual participation, please log into our website at the top of this page.
