And further, CEOs across the private sector are now prioritizing digital transformation over focusing more on sustainability.

According to the annual C-Suite Outlook survey from The Conference Board, 32% of global CEOs—and 28% in the US—are focusing on accelerating digital transformation, including AI adoption. And further, CEOs across the private sector are now prioritizing digital transformation over focusing more on sustainability.

While AI and sustainability are distinct topics, the current corporate focus on AI echoes the surge of momentum for sustainability a few years ago. Like sustainability, AI is quickly becoming an integral part of business strategies, being linked with operational efficiency and market competitiveness, and drawing increased attention from policymakers and the public.
