When we get more specific about human capital issues, the CMO is even more focused on the workforce than the CEO or CHRO, with 46% prioritizing “attract and retain workers” vs. 37% of CEOs and 37% of CHROs. This indicates that for marketing and communications, it is the humans on the team who will be the difference makers, so CMOs can focus on developing leadership, strengthening culture, and (alongside communications and HR) strengthening the employee experience.
