As the nation begins to formally move beyond the COVID-19 pandemic with the President moving to end the national emergency and public health emergency declarations on May 11, it becomes much more time urgent to capture the lessons of the pandemic in order to prepare for future pandemics. An important new resource on lessons learned was released by Singapore on March 8. The Singapore government’s White Paper on the nation’s response to COVID-19, Singapore’s Response to COVID-19: Lessons for the Next Pandemic, examines the Republic’s fight against the virus, highlighting what the city-state did right, and lessons to be learned to prepare for inevitable future pandemics.
