The Imperative for More Diverse Participants in Medical Research

January 31, 2023 | Report

Patient outcomes vary depending on the existence of clinical research focused on what works for diverse patients

Some communities are underrepresented in drug trials and underserved in health care access and education, and these inequities negatively affect society and business. Diversity in medical research improves patient outcomes, providing a pathway to advancing health equity. The effectiveness and affordability of drugs, medical treatments, and health practices contribute to the well-being of an increasingly diverse workforce. Healthy workers produce more and help contain the spiraling costs of health care and insurance. Leaders across all industries can contribute to solutions.
