CED hosted its Spring Trustee Policy Summit, Inflection Point: Charting a Sustainable Path Forward on June 11-12th in Washington, DC. The Summit opened the evening of June 11th with a dinner at the U.S. Capitol in the historic Member’ Dining Room. We were joined by Representatives Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and James Comer (R-KY).

On June 12th, the Summit consisted of a series of roundtable discussions with CED Trustees and special guests from the Washington business and public policy communities on som of the most consequential issues facing the nation, including the future of globalization and global trade, strengthening bipartisanship in Congress, US economic and political outlooks, the war in Ukraine and the future of NATO, and more.

CED Biannual Trustee Spring Policy Summit - What is at Stake: Navigating the Changing World Order

CED hosted its Spring Trustee Policy Summit, What is at Stake: Navigating the Changing World Order on June 13-14th in Washington, DC. The Summit opened the evening of June 13th with a dinner at the U.S. Capitol in the historic Lincoln Room off of National Statuary Hall dedicated to Abraham Lincoln. We were joined by Congressman Jay Obernolte (R-CA) for a conversation on the AI Revolution and Congressman Derek Kilmer (D-WA) on the New Democratic Coalition.

On June 14th, the Summit consisted of a series of roundtable discussions with CED Trustees and special guests from the Washington business and public policy communities on the most pressing economic and business issues facing the nation, including: the AI revolution, the banking crisis, the current ESG backlash, the national cybersecurity strategy, global threat assessments, European security after Ukraine, the 2024 political landscape, US trade policy.

CED Biannual Trustee Virtual Policy Summit: Fall 2022

Last year, the Trustee-only event convened leading voices from the policy and business communities for briefings on issues at the forefront of the national and global agenda to offer insights on navigating economic and geopolitical challenges ahead, as well as to discuss the impact of the mid-term elections on the policy agenda.

Trustees were joined by: Lawrence H. Summers, former US Secretary of the Treasury and President Emeritus of Harvard University, for a briefing on The Economic Outlook and Its Impact on Fiscal PolicyMatthew Harrington, Global President & COO, Edelman, CED Trustees; Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, Senior Associate Dean for Leadership Studies, Yale University; and Alan Murray, CEO, Fortune Media on The Changing Role of Business Leadership in SocietyAmbassador Kenneth I. Juster, US Ambassador to the Republic of India (2017-2021) on The Shifting Global Order: India’s Role; and Mark Penn, pollster, political strategist, and Chairman & CEO of Stagwell on Understanding the Mid-Term Elections and Their Impact on Policy. The final session of the summit included a Trustee-only roundtable discussion on Navigating the Economic Storm.
