How can MNCs best plan for China “Gray Swan” risks?

At this difficult juncture in US-China and EU-China relations, this Deep Dive Exchange will undertake to illuminate three aspects of the current geopolitical context and business planning environment:

  • What does a sensible view of the current risk register, and a calibration of plausible likelihoods and impacts, look like?
  • What level of contingency planning for potential supply chain disruptions is necessary? What production and sourcing changes are even possible and within what timeframes?
  • How should companies organize to manage mounting geopolitical risks, maintain strong HQ alignment, and ensure adequate cross-functional/cross-border integration and readiness in case of crisis?
