The Center for Marketing Research at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth conducted an in-depth statistically valid study on the use of social media by the top charities and nonprofit organizations in the United States. Top charities use a wide range of social media tools, but for these successful nonprofits, YouTube, web videos, and video blogs are the tools of choice for communicating with their constituencies, with 97 percent using some type of video to help inspire their audience. The new report is the outcome of statistically sound study of the top charities as identified by Philanthrophy.com.

This report was originally distributed by the Society for New Communications Research, which officially merged with The Conference Board in January 2016.
