Shine a Light: Reflecting on the 20th Anniversary of 9/11

The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, profoundly impacted the US and the world. They were also a seminal moment in the evolution of corporate citizenship and philanthropy.

While the initial response saw much of the traditional disaster relief “playbook” come into play as corporations, nonprofit organizations, and the government provided immediate assistance to the victims, their families, and first responders, what followed was an outpouring of compassion and hope that helped the nation heal.

For the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the nation’s leading 9/11-related organizations are partnering together to transform this historic anniversary into a worldwide day of service — doing good in tribute to those killed and injured on that day.
