Lessons Learned

  • Addressing employee well-being which encompasses various dimensions—physical, mental, financial, and social, is a key pillar in building a resilient workforce  - especially in Asia where many individuals have the added stress of long working hours.
  • Building a resilient workforce requires investment in its future-readiness such as upskilling and reskilling which ensures the continued relevance of the workforce in the future. Internal mobility programs are gaining prominence, aiding employees in mapping their own career paths and personal skill development within the organization.
  • Creating and sharing a compelling narrative - especially through storytelling by leaders - can be a powerful way of cascading the ESG agenda throughout the organization.
  • Technology is a positive enabler but comes with its own risks and challenges that need to be proactively managed. AI and automation can help save costs, but often result in job displacement and feelings of insecurity and anxiety among employees. HR’s role is crucial in shaping harmonious integration of technology, sustainability, and organizational transformation.
  • Culture and mindset shifts will be needed to ensure the success of sustainability initiatives. Creating an open culture will encourage experimentation and make upskilling a natural part of everyday conversations.
