Leadership Skills for the New Hybrid World of Work

With the hybrid world of work here to stay, managers need new skills to be equally effective at their core responsibilities in all settings. But which skills should be strengthened? How best and how quickly can they be mastered? And how much of an impact will acquiring these skills have for the individual and the organization? To find out, The Conference Board’s Human Capital Center partnered with Udemy Business, the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, and the ROI Institute to offer a six-week online program for more than 100 “earlier-in-career” managers from more than 40 organizations. The goal was to enhance effectiveness in three core management areas while building and maintaining an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging work environment, regardless of the physical setting. Formal learning activities were monitored through the Udemy Business High-Impact Learning Analytics dashboard, pre- and post-assessments were conducted to measure behavior change, and post-program evaluations determined the degree to which participation in the program adds business value to the organization. Our panel of participants in the program will discuss its impact from an individual manager and organizational perspective.
