Background

CEOs in the US and around globe say that economic opportunity, equality, and security is their number one social priority. Consumers also rank fair wages, fair labor conditions, support for human rights, and equity in the workplace among the top sustainability features that influence purchases. Corporate citizenship has long played a central role in addressing social issues, but companies can do more to clearly link their citizenship activities to economic opportunity and fairness.

This Roundtable will address

  1. the role of corporate citizenship in creating economic opportunity and security inside and outside a company's "four walls,"
  2. current approaches that are yielding results, and
  3. how to invest in the long-term amid the financial constraints and cost-cutting measures that come with an economic slowdown.

Participating in a Roundtable is an exclusive benefit for our ESG Center Members, and there is no fee associated with this program. As with our other programs, this session is held under the Chatham House Rule to provide a forum for a truly candid and constructive conversation.
