Background

As we’ve heard from our Members, the intersection of “E” and “S” issues is of keen interest to corporations, and will only become more urgent as the transition to a more environmentally sustainable economy is poised to have a significant impact on society.

Recognizing this urgency, The Conference Board ESG Center is holding a Roundtable discussion that will address:

The Key Intersections Between “E” and “S” Issues

  • The human impact of environmental events
  • The human impact of the environmental sustainability transition
  • The scope and status of environmental justice

How Companies are Addressing the Intersection of E & S

  • How are companies deciding the E/S issues to focus on?
  • Specifically, why do firms focus on environmental justice?
  • What programs are addressing these intersections?
  • How are companies structured (or not) to address the intersections?

Communicating and Engaging with Stakeholders

  • How do companies “humanize” their discussion of environmental issues?
  • How are companies soliciting input from stakeholders on the environmental sustainability transition?
  • How can companies improve how they communicate their efforts and progress with stakeholders?

Participating in a Roundtable is an exclusive benefit for our ESG Center Members, and there is no fee associated with this program. As with our other programs, this session is held under the Chatham House Rule to provide a forum for a truly candid and constructive conversation.
