According to a recent survey by The Conference Board, companies are finding the legal and regulatory environment in the US progressively more difficult, due to increasing (and sometimes conflicting) regulation at the state/local and federal levels.

The upcoming ESG Center Roundtable on the Proliferation of Federal and State ESG Regulations will address how companies can manage the numerous ESG regulations and laws coming from the federal government as well as state and local governments.

Uncertainty about these regulations and enforcement leaves companies unprepared for compliance and disclosure, as well as pressed for resources. This Roundtable will explore how companies can navigate the complexities of managing multiple ESG regulations. It will delve into the critical roles of the board and management, explore effective cross-functional collaboration strategies, and equip participants with scenario planning techniques to ensure preparedness.

Key Topics:

  • The current state of the ESG regulatory landscape
  • How companies are staying on top of regulatory developments across jurisdictions
  • How to identify and manage overlapping and conflicting regulations
  • How to manage compliance programs to keep pace with, and adapt to, this regulatory environment
  • How to keep your board and senior management informed about ESG regulatory regimes
  • How to engage with policymakers to address increasing and conflicting regulatory requirements

The session will occur both virtually and in-person at The Conference Board (845 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022).
