The Conference Board conducted a rapid pulse survey of leaders in marketing and communications disciplines in mid-June 2022. Three simple questions were asked about the challenges faced, the insights needed, and the sources people would turn to. More than 120 leaders responded from an array of different businesses ranging from specialized business-to-business organizations (B2B) to global business-to-consumer companies (B2C).

The findings highlight the diversity of issues faced and the subtle differences arising for communications leaders; marketing leaders; and B2B, B2C, and B2B2C companies.

In this volatile environment, proving the value of communications and managing a multiplicity of stakeholders are the leading challenges—but they are not the only ones.

With the rapid change in both the internal and external landscape, the stories that used to drive businesses forward and the means by which they are distributed must be constantly refined. This increasingly frequent refocusing that the communications teams undertake to capitalize on challenges and opportunities raises issues of organization, measurement, stakeholder management, innovation, resourcing, and benchmarking to make sure they have an informed perspective about their actions in the marketplace.

At this Roundtable we will drill down into the survey outcomes on the communications function to examine and discuss how relatable or different it is for your role at your company. We will gather all the insights form the session and will deliver in a report.
